FASHION DESIGN & SEWING -age 11+

Service Description

Total of 7 classes. If you miss one class, you are able to make one class up on Saturday January 11th. There are no classes Saturday November 30th for the Thanksgiving holiday and December 28th and January 4th for the winter holidays. An introduction to fashion design and sewing! The students will be introduced to the sewing machine and the safety rules. They will develop one concept board and several fashion design sketches on a body template. They will choose one design they will sew. The student will learn how to develop the paper pattern and/or drape their design on a mannequin. The student will learn how to measure and cut in addition to sewing their fashion pieces. They will also learn how to develop a paper pattern for their design. All materials and trim are included.

Cancellation Policy

Refunds will be given up to 2 weeks prior to the start of classes or camp program. After the 2 week time frame, there will be no refund. For cancellations, there will be a 10% handling fee. If a camp or class has insufficient sign ups, you will be notified 1 week prior and a full refund will be provided or the option of credit to the next session. One make up class will be given within one session if you miss a class on a designated date. If you miss more than one class, there will be no extra makeups. If we cancel a class you will be notified by email and a makeup date will be arranged to accommodate. If there is a cancellation due to weather related concerns, there will be one makeup date only. Covid 19 Policy Our machines are wiped down before and after classes and hand sanitizer is provided to each student upon arrival. Ventilation is provided in the sewing room and water bottles are available upon request. Masks are provided if mask mandate is still in place.We will observe up-to-date DOH and CDC guidelines.
